Datafund CTO explaining his vision of the consent receipt lifecycle to the audience.

From 31 May to 1 June, the annual MyData conference took place in the Finnish capital Helsinki. Here, data and privacy experts from around the world met to share the latest developments in personal data, privacy, digital security and AI. This year, Datafund was a proud MyData partner and had the opportunity to present a use case for our privacy-friendly solutions together with our Finnish colleagues from Sensotrend.

The conference also provided a valuable opportunity to speak with some of the industry’s leading experts who share our commitment to personal data and a fair data economy. This experience gave us a first-hand view of the evolving trends in this industry.

Keywords: smart cities, AI, metaverse, data spaces

The focus of the presentations was on smart cities, AI in general and metaverse, with data spaces taking up a large portion of the time in one way or another. Decentralisation topics included more “classic” decentralisation technologies, with Solid also attending.

Paving the way for wider use of consent receipts

During the thought-provoking session “Making consent receipts interoperable”, we presented the interoperability use case with Sensotrend, demonstrating the generation and storage of a consent receipt using Fairdrive as a personal storage solution. This approach opens the door for other services to adopt consent receipts and is a compelling example for other MyData operators to follow.

A growing interest in decentralised storage

The general impression when talking about decentralisation topics was that projects are no longer shying away from using blockchain in one form or another. Interest in decentralised storage is also becoming more palpable. We had an opportunity to talk about our projects in the “Views from web3 session”. Our work at the intersection of decentralised storage and artificial intelligence raised many interesting questions and sparked a lively debate.

In summary, the conference was once again a rich source of new insights and knowledge, and we look forward to being back next year.
